    Cravens threw three touchdowns as Morehead State defeated West Virginia State, 37-35, in nonconference action Thursday. Making his debut as the Eagles starting quarterback, Cravens completed 21-of-32 passes for 236 yards and added another 82 yards on 11 carries. His three touchdown tosses went to three different receivers and accounted for Morehead State’s first three touchdowns as they built a 24-7 lead they would hold on to. Cravens closed the game with an 18-yard rush on a 2nd-and-17 situation that gave MSU a first down and allowed them to kneel out the game for the win.

    Fallah kickstarted St. Thomas’ 2023 season with a 37-yard interception return for a touchdown on the game’s first possession as the Tommies defeated Black Hills State 36-26 in nonconference action Saturday. That win was Tommies head coach Glenn Caruso’s 150th career win. In addition to his pick-six, Fallah had six tackles (five solo) as part of a St. Thomas defense that held Black Hills State to 41 rushing yards and recorded six sacks.

    Shannon returned nine kickoffs for 151 yards in Marist’s season-opening 49-7 loss at Georgetown Saturday. Shannon was the lone FCS kick returner to post more than 100 yards in kick returns through Saturday in Week 1 action. His 151 yards in kick returns was the second-most in Marist program history, averaging 25.2 yards per return. Shannon had four returns of 25-plus yards, two for 30-plus yards, and a 37-yard return on the day.
